TURNING THE TIDE

an LGBT fundraiser for tsunami relief

art | food | drink | djs | dance | silent + live auction

START SOMA + local artist Tim Gaskin have put together a very special art show in conjunction with this benefit. Basically, we have created a giant 16,000 square foot ART MARKET, similar to what we did last year with our ART 415 exhibition. ART BUSINESS wrote an article about the last show, and we are duplicating the same format for this event. Over fifty artists. LOTS of great art. Same as last year. With one big difference...

Participating artists get half of all art sales. The other half goes to the RAINBOW WORLD FUND. NO gallery commissions!

Buy some great NEW ART, support local artists AND help make the world a better place!

Full event details are available via http://www.QueerCares.com.

editor's note: we spent the last week reviewing submissions for thisart show, and the work is astounding! dozens of artists we have never shown before. LOTS of great new art. nice value, too. several hundred folks are volunteering their time + talents to put this benefit together, and it should be a lot of fun - for a GREAT cause. and if you have a moment, kindly check out what the RAINBOW WORLD FUND is all about. we hope to see you next saturday!

David DeRosa Commissioned Portraits...

make great gifts!

David DeRosa is a top-notch talent who had the first public exhibition of his paintings at START SOMA this past year.

His work resonated. He quit his day job and has been painting around the clock ever since...

Over the past months, David has completed commissioned portraits in his signature after image style for a whole host of decidedly interesting characters...

Perhaps someone YOU know would like one? Or maybe one for yourself?

Kindly contact info@STARTsoma.com for additional information. Prices start at $500.
